Danika is a Senior Associate in the Banking and Finance Team with extensive experience advising banks, non-bank lenders and corporate borrowers on complex financing arrangements across a range of sectors and jurisdictions.

Acting for banks, non-bank lenders, and corporate borrowers across various sectors – including real estate and property development, agribusiness, resources, and corporate finance, Danika advises on all stages of financing, from conducting due diligence and drafting and negotiating finance and security documents to managing conditions precedent and facilitating settlements.

Having completed a secondment to a major Queensland bank, Danika brings valuable first-hand insight into the commercial drivers, risk considerations and stakeholder priorities that shape complex financing transactions. This experience enhances Danika’s ability to deliver pragmatic, business-focused advice tailored to real-world commercial needs.

With a special interest in supporting families, generational businesses and private clients, Danika is a valued member of the McR Private team. Danika specialises in helping clients structure and document private finance and property arrangements with clarity and care.

Real Estate (lender)

Acting for a ‘big four’ on almost $100 million of facilities provided to a developer to refinance commercial centres across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, including due diligence.

Real Estate (borrower)

Assisting a large corporate borrower with respect to $190 million in funding for a pilot build-to-rent project with the State of Queensland, including negotiation of various side deeds.

Corporate Finance

Assisting a London-based borrower entity to refinance over £175 million of funding, including undertaking a financial assistance whitewash for the Australian obligors.

Agribusiness

Acting for a ‘big four’ in the provision of over AUD180 million and USD2 million of funding to a global livestock group and export business.

Hotels & Pubs

Acting for a major Queensland bank with respect to a $67 million portfolio of facilities for prominent hoteliers, including the freehold and business acquisition of three large pubs in Southeast Queensland.
