Chris is a Senior Associate in the Construction team, specialising in commercial litigation, construction litigation and arbitration, and professional conduct regulation.

He acts for clients across a range of commercial disputes, and for both principals and contractors in respect of all aspects of construction disputes, across Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria.

With experience across a variety of construction and commercial disputes, coupled with his past experience as a lawyer for the Legal Services Commission, Chris provides strategic, timely and commercially driven advice regarding potential claims, dispute resolution and litigation.

Chris was the Associate to the Honourable Justice Frances Williams of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2020.

Experience

Coal handling and processing plant

Acting for the principal in respect of the construction of a coal handling and processing plant.

Gas processing facility

Acting for the contractor in relation to upgrade works of a gas processing facility.

International arbitration

Acting in an international arbitration in respect of the construction of a biodiesel refinery and gas processing plant.

Defects and delay liability

Advising a Queensland Government department in relation to delay and defects liability in respect of ongoing construction projects.

Shareholder oppression

Acting for shareholders in an oppression action.

Discipline application and injunction proceedings

Advising the Legal Services Commissioner in relation to discipline application and injunction proceedings pursuant to the Legal Profession Act 2007 (Qld).

Legal Services Commission

Acting for the Legal Services Commission in relation to legal professional privilege claims arising from search warrants executed pursuant to the Legal Profession Act 2007 (Qld).
