Max has advised on some of Australia’s most significant infrastructure and first-of-their-kind renewable energy projects including large-scale public transport networks, hospital PPPs and offshore wind developments. He regularly provides strategic advice on project structuring, contracting frameworks and funding arrangements, helping clients navigate complex regulatory and commercial environments.
He also has extensive experience in infrastructure transactions and project financings, advising on mergers and acquisitions, divestments, and the refinancing of infrastructure and energy assets.
Max has acted for a diverse range of clients in the public and private sectors (including governments, contractors, developers, consultants and financiers). He is adept in understanding and balancing the interests of the finance parties and equity investors with those of the builders, operators and maintainers in one integrated contract and is able to leverage on his varied experience to offer solutions and optimal risk allocation to ensure whole-of-project delivery outcomes.
His time in-house with a leading infrastructure and construction company has given him a valuable understanding of the commercial and operational realities of project delivery, enabling him to deliver pragmatic and commercially-driven advice that balances legal risk management with concurrent stakeholder, financial, and operational considerations.

Advising Dexus in relation to its appointment as exclusive developer of, and its AUD1.8 billion acquisition of, a majority ownership interest in Atlassian’s new 40-level sustainable global headquarters in the NSW Government’s $3 billion technology and innovation hub, Tech-Central.
Advising various contractors in respect of their bid and delivery of significant projects including Sydney Metro City Southwest Central Station Main Works (NSW), West Gate Tunnel Project (VIC) and WestConnex M4 East Stage 1B (NSW).

Advising tier-one contractor across multiple landmark public–private partnership (PPP) projects including the Canberra Capital Metro Light Rail, Sydney Metro Northwest Operations, Trains and Systems, and Melbourne Metro Tunnels & Stations.

Advising Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Offshore Energy Pty Ltd on the development of the proposed A$10 billion 2GW “Star of the South” project, Australia’s first, and what will be, once completed, the world’s largest offshore wind farm.
Advising tier-one contractor and financiers in respect of multiple water infrastructure projects including the Sydney Water Avoid Fail Program, Sydney Water Thornleigh Inlet/Outlet and Metro Northwest Projects and Macarthur Water Treatment Plant (NSW).
Advising various sponsors, equity investors, design and construction contractors, and financiers across a range of significant social infrastructure projects including the Ground Lease Model Project – Stage Two (VIC), the New Footscray Hospital PPP (VIC), and the New Grafton Correctional Centre PPP (NSW).
Advising in relation to the refinancing of various debt facilities in respect of operational infrastructure assets including the Hills M2 Motorway, and the M5 West Motorway.
Advising key players on various energy projects including the Bannerton Solar Farm and the Barossa offshore LNG Project.
